Better Together: February 2015

Most people made New Years Resolutions to lose weight this year, but I made a New Years Resolution to GAIN weight! Yep! We are expecting baby Buhr to join our family coming September 2015!

Monday January 5th 2015

This morning I got up and decided to take a pregnancy test,(Not the first one, I've peed more money away on sticks than I care to admit in the last couple months) but I had been feeling a little different than usual and was late having my period (again) We have actually been trying for a little while by now. I didn't have my contacts in and it felt like it took forever to display the results! I could tell when it displayed the results but couldn't read it from where I was so I picked it up and guess what?! The display window on the pee stick said "Pregnant"! And right when I read it Pat woke up and came out of the bedroom into the hallway. Originally I was going to wait and tell him some adorable way by buying some cute baby thing and bringing it home, but since he woke up right when I read it I just had to show him. So I rushed out of the bathroom to show him and I was just like "Pat!" and he didn't stop at first cuz he was walking and had just woken up and then I said his name again and and shoved the stick in his face and watched his eyes focus and read the stick. And then he smiled super big and adorably and we got super excited. :) And I just had to take another home pregnancy test 4 days later and it said pregnant again, so it must be true lol!

Pat and I had to go have a fun celebration dinner that weekend so we went to chuck a rama because everything sounded good to me, so that way I could choose lol

I ate a whole huge plate full of salad right before I ate all of this just so you know!

Monday January 12th

So I haven't had a Dr. appointment yet or anything but we are guessing I am 6 almost 7 weeks along by now. That seems crazy to me! I haven't been feeling too sick or anything yet, just a little bit in the morning when my stomach screams "food now!", I'm basically just tired all the time and hungry ALL the time! I have eaten so much food lately! I feel like all I wanna do is eat and sleep. I have noticed some pregnancy symptoms and my stomach just hasn't felt the same as it used to, there is always something going on in there it feels like lol. Oh and I have to pee all the time, seriously I know where the closest bathroom is now like wherever I am. And I read that a first trimester symptom was excess saliva and thought that was weird, but it is totally true! During long conversations I totally notice that ha ha, I just keep hoping not to spit on everyone I talk to accidentally.

Oh and it has been super hard not to blurt out the news we are expecting, it seems like everything people say has something to do with it. Pat and I just lock eyes and smile whenever someone says something that unknowingly reminds us we are expecting.

Week 8-January 21st
I have been sooooooooooooo tired and exhausted this week. I have had zero energy and it is an effort to get up in the mornings and lift my head off my pillow, I used to think pregnant women exaggerated the exhaustion thing, but it is for reals. I am hungry all the time and never know what sounds good to eat. I was really dragging at work this week and on days when I have to work at the hospital and Olive Garden I am completely exhausted because usually if I work at both places that ends up being a 10 hour work day for me, so we'll see how long I can keep up with that.
Pat has been soooo adorably sweet lately though and has been cooking lunch and dinner a lot lately and he even helped with dishes a couple of times too! I am super grateful for him, and for food to come home too, and we are so grateful that we are pregnant and for this wonderful little blessing that will come into our lives. :) And I have to say I am super lucky and blessed because I haven't been too morning sick yet (knock on wood) I have been nauseous a lot, especially this past week, but luckily I haven't actually been sick yet. Oh, and I think I have the pregnancy super-sense nose now because I can smell everything.
I definitely have emotional pregnancy hormones going on too because we had to give away our kitty this week and I cried for like a day and a half about it lol, I found a toy that kitty left in our living room that it liked to play with when I was cleaning and I just picked it up and started crying because I missed the darn cute little kitty cat. I will definitely miss our sweet cat, it was my favorite to curl up on the couch with it and read a good book while Pat was at work, but it would be kinda a small apartment for me,Pat,Baby,and Kitty. Also apparently you aren't supposed to clean the cat's litter box when you are pregnant because of risk of toxoplasma or something, who knew? So Pat was getting sick of cleaning it everyday. Oh, well I will miss having a cat, it was quite fun, it went to a good home though.

I totally should have cleaned my mirror before I took this picture lol. And btw I already expect to be showing by like 10 weeks ha ha cuz I am so short and have nowhere for extra weight to go. And of course I have been eating a TON lately :) Like I ate more than Pat one day. Yeah that's how much I have been eating, it's crazy :)

So I took like a million pictures of our cute kitty the 2 months that we had it. I will now post a lot of my favorite ones as a goodbye to it lol and so I will remember its cute face forever.
